Just another person who thinks what she has to say can change the world…

Damned Politics! Or, one way to say “How do I love you” in CA

Lead attorneys Ted Olson and David Boies

In a 2 to 1 ruling, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed Judge Walker’s decision declaring that Proposition 8 violates the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses of the Constitution.

– All Proposition 8 accomplished was to take away from same-sex couples the right to be granted marriage licenses and thus legally to use the designation of ‘marriage,’ which symbolizes state legitimation and social recognition of their committed relationships. Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and dignity of gays and lesbians in California, and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior to those of opposite-sex couples. The Constitution simply does not allow for “laws of this sort.”

– The People may not employ the initiative power to single out a disfavored group for unequal treatment and strip them, without a legitimate justification, of a right as important as the right to marry.

Well, well, well. Those damned Liberals! Those damned Democrats! Those damned Republicans! Those damned – what the hell is Ron Paul’s people – Gullible! Idiots! Racists! NO, they’re Libertarians.

I mean, really. Is it fair to ask that a portion of Americans be denied the same rights that we have? By we, I mean the hetero’s. You know, we’re not those kind of people.  We’re the right kind of people, the  kind that don’t believe in equality for all, just equality for some.  As long as I’m on the side that gots more, damn them all,  I say!

I’m being sarcastic here.  Or there….. ah, you know what I mean.

I love it when people say gay rights aren’t civil rights. It’s not the same thing as being black, you know, I mean, we’re born that way…. yeah. I’m amazed at anyone who can honestly affirm that other people should not have the very same rights that they themselves enjoy. Rights freely  given to us should be denied to some? Doesn’t anyone remember that separate but equal wasn’t so equal? Don’t you remember that previously some people (and some still do) think that black people were not even human? I think any human being that is of age, should be able to marry the person that they love. Like a friend of mine says, “What I want for me, I want for you.”
